Dog Supplements

Just like humans, dogs can take supplements to add nutritional benefits to their diet. Supplements can be a wonderful addition for dogs of all ages. Some dogs however need them more than others.

Does your dog need to take supplements?

If your dog is already eating a balanced diet (Kibble fed) that includes fruits, vegetables and the proper protein with out wheat, corn, soy and by-product meal then there is no need to give the extra supplements. However for older dogs or pregnant dogs, supplements are necessary.

If you are feeding a Raw Diet (P.M.R or B.A.R.F.) then YES supplements are needed to give them a balanced and complete meal.

Other reasons for giving additional supplements are calming remedies, skin & coat, joint & heart, senior dogs , digestion, dogs that are more athletic,

At age 7 and older adding joint support (Glucosamine & Chondroitin) will help decrease problems such and achy joints, arthritis and hip dysplasia. A healthy hear, strong immunity and regular digestion will give full support in your aging canine.

Female dogs that are pregnant or have given birth and for their puppies K9 Power Puppy Gold is a wonderful addition to their diet. "Dietary supplement for puppies and nursing moms that provides key nutrients, supports muscle, joint and bone growth in a formula that is easily digestible."

A more common problem in the modern canine is skin & allergy. Some dogs, like my own Bobo, require a higher level of Omega fatty acids, vitamin B & A and Zinc. Coconut oil is another great addition that can used as topical or added to their food.
